Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run our services, and only what they need:
- Paystack, to process online payments and bank transfers into dedicated accounts.
- Resend, to deliver our emails, such as receipts, account invitations and password resets.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
- YouTube (Google), only if you allow optional cookies and play a video.
We may also disclose personal data when the law requires it, for example to a court or regulator.
Transfers outside Nigeria
Some of our service providers process data outside Nigeria. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards the NDPA allows, such as contractual protections with the provider.
How long we keep it
- Accounts: while your account is open. If you close it, we delete or anonymise your details unless we must keep them for a reason below.
- Sales and payment records: for as long as Nigerian tax and accounting law requires.
- Enquiries and inspection requests: for as long as we need them to respond and follow up.
- Security logs: for a limited period, to investigate misuse.
How we protect it
- The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
- Passwords are hashed, and two-factor authentication is available to every account and required for new staff accounts.
- Staff can only see the parts of the portal their role needs.
- Payment receipts are kept in private storage that only our finance team can access.
No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach that affects you, we’ll tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data, or to restrict how we use it;
- object to how we use your data, and receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by changing your cookie choice.
Some data, such as payment records, we must keep by law even if you ask us to delete it. To use your rights, email info@micpropertyco.com. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Children
Our services are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
